Crowdfunding Campaign Launches to Re- Open Thunder Bay Theatre
$50,000 goal to win a matching grant through MEDC’s
Public Spaces Community Places initiative
After two devastating fires and a six-year hiatus, Thunder Bay Theatre is ready to rise from the ashes-- but we need your help!
If we raise $50,000 in sixty days, we will receive a $50,000 matching grant through the MEDC's Public Spaces Community Places grant program, which will allow us to finish out this monumental renovation and bring back live, professional theatre to Northeast Michigan.
We are SO close to re-opening our doors, but need the community's help to get to opening night in this final push. These funds will be used to purchase a new lighting and sound system for the auditorium, plus new furniture for the lobby.
Together, we can finish this renovation and re-open Thunder Bay Theatre.
Make a donation today and PLEASE SHARE! www.patronicity.com/tbayt
If you prefer to give via cash or check, please call/text 989-464-9939, and we will coordinate with you.

TBayT Updates

We are under renovation!
Progress continues on our renovation project at 400 N. Second Ave. Our 1903 building is undergoing a $2 million restoration, that will restore the exterior, update the apartments upstairs, and rebuild the lobby. The roof, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical will also be replaced throughout the building. This renovation is made possible through the support of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, State Historic Preservation Office, Besser Foundation, Michigan Arts & Culture Council, First Federal Legacy Foundation, and all those who have donated since our 2020 fire. As of September 2026, we are several weeks away from being done with renovation. On September 15, we launched a Patronicity campaign through the MEDC's Public Spaces Community Places grant program. If we can raise $50,000 by November 14th, we will win a matching $50,000 grant-- which will allow us to RE-OPEN TBT! View the campaign and make a donation here: patronicity.com/tbayt We anticipate hosting our first production in Spring 2026. |
